nice lapel pins for your guests

October 19th, 2010 No comments

Planning a holiday event? Then chances are you want nice lapel pins  for your guests. Here are a few things to think about before purchasing lapel pins .

Is your event fun and California-casual or a tick more formal? You need to consider if your guests mind pinning the name badge to their jacket, blouse, or dress or would they rather have a garment-friendly clip?

Remember, size does matter when it comes to  badges. There are two sizes for lapel pins : 2-1/4″x3-1/2″ and 3″x4″.

You can also get neck hanging style lapel pins  like the “Press” uses. There is also a little-known name badge that combines both the pin and clip style all on one badge giving your guests a choice.

It’s just smart to have your logo featured on the front of the badge. That said, I highly recommend the larger size because you can do a lot more with a larger area. You might not want a logo but wanted to add a theme with clip-art. If you get the smaller size it may look too busy and defeat the badge’s purpose.Just to give you a frame of reference, the smaller size is just a little bigger than a standard business card.

LAPD pins description

October 18th, 2010 No comments

Lapel pins  are born of tradition and history. The Pittsburgh Police  pins was designed in 1873. According to the City of Pittsburgh’s website: “The crest is from the Coat-of-Arms of William Pitt, the first Earl of Chatham, and the man for whom Pittsburgh is named. The garter around the badge is linked to King George III, the last English ruler of the American colonies. The shield is a circular fighting shield used by 15th-century Greek foot soldiers. During the 16th and 17th centuries, the circular shield was used extensively in the British Isles, hence its appearance in Pittsburgh.”

There is a decidedly emotional connection to Lapel pins . “Lapel pins  are routinely handed down from father to child in police families,” wrote Ray Rivera in the New York Times in 2009. “But in New York, a city that has become almost synonymous with high security… some officers don’t wear their Lapel pins  on patrol. Instead, they wear fakes. Called ‘dupes,’ these phony Lapel pins  are often just a trifle smaller than real ones but otherwise completely authentic. Officers use them because losing a real badge can mean paperwork and a heavy penalty, as much as 10 days’ pay.”

These days wearing the word “Police” “FBI” or “DEA” in gothic caps on the back of a windbreaker carries some of the same authority as a badge. But it is not the same. Lapel pins  are official; T-shirts, baseball caps and other sporting apparel currently used to signify “the law” don’t hold a candle to a badge—even the faux (i.e., rent-a-cop) varieties.

An array of Lapel pins . (via pimall.com)

Speaking of quasi-official pin  holders, although Federal law prohibits the sale or purchase of counterfeit police Lapel pins , that doesn’t stop the trade in quasi-Lapel pins  for non-governmental legal support professions. And the more loaded with signs and symbols, the better. Thomas pin  Company, a leading manufacturer, makes the following declarations in its catalog copy. Bodyguards, for example, should have the Executive Security pin , “distinctively crafted… in a gold finish. A Red and white enamel is used for the beautifully mastered center eagle emblem. This Executive Security pin  is sure to please any professional Security personnel or Bodyguard. It will command attention from all who see it!”

In addition, process servers get no respect, so they get a pin , too: “Our Process Server pin  ensures immediate recognition of the holder due to its large 2.5 inch size. This is a reasonably priced pin  with very high quality. This is a heavy-duty flat-back quality pin  with quality pinback. Its enameled black lettering with federal eagle center seal and rich gold finish ensures years of trouble-free use. Our Process Server pin  also comes with a heavy duty pin & safety clasp.” And even security guards should possess a “3-inch seven point Security Special Officer Star pin  [that] is both elegant and effective. With a non-interchangeable multicolored enameled center seal of Liberty and Justice, you will get a professional look with style. This Security Special Officer pin  is a must for your profession.”

“Lapel pins !?” It is necessary to show those “stinkin’ Lapel pins ”—not only for the authority they possess but for the Pavlovian responses they trigger.

Joint Service Achievement Medal

October 16th, 2010 No comments

The Department of Defense created the authorization for its Joint Service Achievement Medal in 1983.  These US military medal are considered superior to any of the individual service branch Achievement Medals.  These medals of America are awarded for outstanding achievement or meritorious service in a joint project between military services that would not warrant the receipt of the Joint Services Commendation Medals.  These military medals and ribbons were created specifically to commend the performance of junior officers and enlisted personnel, who are not generally eligible to receive Commendation Medals or Meritorious Service Medals.  These military ribbons and medals are awarded by the local commander on behalf of the Department of Defense.

With the fast changing technology, these days the way in which we address our very own security needs is also changing. The lapel pins  is used for security purpose and it fulfills the purpose effectively. It is widely used in hospitals, government offices, business firms etc. and it makes gaining access to restricted and sensitive areas extremely difficult and practically impossible.

It is quite small in size and not very bigger than one’s driving license or the other things. It prevents a person from driving and even from charge items for a mall that is, it does not provide authorization. However it helps one to access control in one’s organization or company or business firm.

lanyards are a colorful and expressive way to display an ID. A lanyard is a necklace that is typically made of nylon to carry a clear holder around the neck. Aside from the rainbow of colors available, blue, red, yellow, green purple and pink, they are also available in stylish designs of dazzling beads. Evening elegance is an example of a classy and sassy lanyard. With alternating black and white sparkling beads, this will enhance a lapel pin holder to express fashion that is solely that of the wearer. recyclable lapel pins

October 10th, 2010 No comments

These days,  There are lapel pin that are promoted as recyclable; the plastic pouches are biodegradable. Frankly, I prefer to collect the pouches at the end of the event and reuse them at future events. A few quick announcements at the conclusion of the event will, in my experience, retrieve 80-90% of the lapel pin s used.
